This is the new software to enter achievements for scouts. Your scout can login and update their records as well as proposed plans for activities.
It follows the journey to the peak award.
This is an attempt to get Blackburn scouts started. There is a lot of information on Terrain, including help guides at: https://pr.scouts.com.au/terrain/
Check out the how-to guide: https://pr.scouts.com.au/mdocs-posts/how-to-log-in/
• Tip #1:
Your password is your date of birth in the format YYYY-MM-DD, so if my date of birth is the 13th November 1990, it would need to be entered as 1990-11-13
• Tip #2:
You will be asked to enter your email address – make sure you enter this correctly, as the system uses this to send a verification code. This code may end up in your Junk or Spam folders – be sure to have a look in them before seeking support.
Basecamp is the main page. It shows the complete scout journey to the peak award. Each section relates to part of the journey towards the peak award. We don't care if you want to do the peak award or not. Terrain allows you to get credit for the fun things you do in scouts. For example, building a bridge with your mates is part of OAS Pioneering. Running a game for your fellow scouts is a lead for a Milestone.
From the 2nd Blackburn perspective, this is one of the best parts of Terrain. It allows you to enter all the camps and activities you have been on. It means the leaders can easily look up what you have done and give the appropriate awards.
This is a summary of your progress through scouts. It's a good listing of what you have done.
These are the first badges you get as a scout. The leaders will get you through these.
Milestones are significant achievements within each Section and recognises a Scout’s active participation in the program and personal development that has occurred during that time.
There are two key elements to each Milestone:
Participating, assisting and leading in the four different Challenge Areas-related activities.
Personal reflection on development through the SPICES, and understanding of the Promise and Law and inclusion of others.
Here are some examples:
One of the best ways to get a lead is to propose an idea. This button is on the Milestones page. Every proposal is submitted to the troop council for approval. Once it is approved, it is added to the calendar.
An idea could be anything:
a hike
a bike ride
cooking
building something
a camp
It is anything you would like to do in scouts.
